Flower Cupcakes for Spring!

Flower cupcakes  are always well received and have that WOW factor.  These beauties are easier to make than they look!  I actually made these with my 14month old baby strapped to my chest in my ErgoCarrier, and my 3 and 6 year old boys hanging out in the kitchen.  My go-to tip for flower cupcakes is the Wilton #104 – all but the crythansum and hydrangea flowers were made with tip #104.  The crythansums were made with a Wilton #80.  The hydrangea were made with a Wilton #2d.flower cupcakes

Hiking theme 50th Birthday Cake

This cake was for a 50th birthday party for a woman who enjoys hiking.  Mount Washington was my inspiration.  The figure on top is hand made from gumpaste, along with the backpack and thermos.  The mountains and hills are fondant decoration.  The cake is frosted in vanilla buttercream.  This cake was a dark chocolate cake filled with alternating layers of raspberry and chocolate buttercream.  Happy Birthday Patty!hiking cake 2 hiking cake 4 hiking cake 3 hiking cake 1

Art Theme Birthday Cake & Cupcakes

I’ve made several of Lydia’s birthday cakes over the years, but I think this is one of my favorites.  And, I’ve been wanting to do an art theme cake for years – so much fun to make this colorful cake.
